Property Etiquette Policy

When you visit The Farmstead, you will notice the beauty and great extent of care that goes into maintaining the venue and grounds. It is very important to us to preserve and care for the spaces here, so all subsequent weddings and events may enjoy the same beautiful experience and views as the present event.

There are a few policies at The Farmstead that we require all guests and vendors to comply with.

  • No driving or parking on the grass within the property, other than the dedicated front field. All parking within the property needs to remain on the gravel. This is very important, as heavy vehicle traffic quickly degrades the grass to mud, causes soil compaction and ruts and the subsequent wedding would be left with undesirable views.

  • Follow all liquor regulations as labeled with signage throughout the property. Under Liquor Licence and Control Act, no outside alcohol will be permitted on The Farmstead property. As per LLCA regulations, no drinking outside of the licensed consumption areas, as labelled with signage on property. The Farmstead reserves the right to close the bar or refuse service to any attendee at any time, at our discretion.  The Farmstead reserves the right to end the event and close the venue for continued violations by the client or attendees to the Liquor Licence and Control Act.

  • All guests are expected to act in a respectful way to each other and to The Farmstead property and staff. The Farmstead reserves the right to close the venue and end the event for destructive behaviour or property damage by attendees.

  • Smoking is permitted on the property. Although, the Ontario Smoke Free Act requires any area licensed for liquor consumption to be smoke-free. Therefore, all smoking needs to be outside our liquor licensed areas. Follow the signage for designated smoking area. All used cigarettes need to be placed in the provided cigarette receptacles.

  • All candles need to be placed in a candle holder, to protect any wax over-spill onto harvest tables or bar tables.

  • Before you hire a vendor, ensure that they are aware of the times of access to the venue. For Saturday weddings, Basic Package, that is from Friday at 10am until Sunday at noon. *All additional items or decor from vendors needs to be picked up by Sunday at noon at the latest.* This ensures a fair experience for the next client of The Farmstead, that they receive the venue at their committed times, cleaned and available for them. Based on availability, you may upgrade venue rental package prior to event date.

Thank you, and we look forward to offering you a welcoming experience!
